Digital evidence can include PDFs, screenshots, photographs and exported messages. The aim is to keep the original context visible and make the record easier to locate later.
Prepare each record carefully
- Keep the original file where possible
- Use a short, descriptive display name
- Keep dates and surrounding message context visible
- Note what the record shows and what it does not answer
Avoid filling gaps
Do not add annotations that could be mistaken for part of the original record. If context is helpful, keep your explanation separate and identify it as your note.
